Mandy Jones-Fischer, LCSW, RPT, JD

Mandy Jones-Fischer (She/Her/Hers), LCSW, RPT, JD is a Certified Theraplay® Practitioner, Trainer, and Supervisor. She also has extensive training in sandtray therapy. Mandy has worked almost exclusively with adoptive and foster families since she began her career. She takes a particular interest in helping families with young children form strong attachments and work through sensory concerns. Mandy is also experienced in helping adopted individuals with identity, loss, and anxiety concerns throughout their lifespan. More recently, Mandy has been focusing her clinical work on helping children born during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic who are struggling with overwhelming anxiety.

Mandy has undergone training in PNET (Perinatal Narrative Exposure Therapy). She has developed a passion for working with birthing parents as they navigate trauma processing during pregnancy. She understands the impact that the ghosts of babies lost have on parenting children. Similarly, Mandy lost a baby halfway through her own pregnancy and is committed to supporting those who have experienced pregnancy loss, infant loss, abortion, and infertility.

While Mandy doesn’t regularly practice law, through her legal work she has advocated for children in both the Illinois and Michigan child welfare systems. She continues to use her legal knowledge and advocacy skills to help families gain Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and other essential resources for children. Mandy earned her BA in Political Science and her BS in Psychology from Loyola University Chicago. She earned her Master of Clinical Social Work and Juris Doctorate from Michigan State University. Tricia Robert, MSW (in process for LSW)

Tricia (She/Her/Hers) is a dedicated therapist with a focus on child development and trauma. She specializes in supporting children, teens, and families as they navigate life transitions, loss, depression, anxiety, and the impacts of trauma. She draws from a rich understanding of how early experiences shape emotional and relational growth.

Tricia integrates attachment-based, strengths-based, and client-centered modalities for both children and adults. She emphasizes the vital connection between caregivers and children, incorporating play therapy to help younger clients express themselves in a safe and engaging way. Tricia offers a supportive environment for teens and adults that encourages personal exploration and healing. Using Theraplay-based techniques and nondirective therapy and fosters a space where clients can connect with their emotions and build resilience.

Tricia holds a Master of Social Work from The University of Chicago, with a focus on child and adolescent trauma, and is currently awaiting her Licensed Social Worker (LSW) certification. She has obtained her Intermediate Theraplay® Practitioner Certificate and has completed training in Trauma-Based Relational Interventions (TBRI), Non-Directive Play Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Play Therapy (CBPT). Kirsten Enoch, LCSW

Kirsten (She/Her/Hers) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Theraplay® Practitioner, Trainer, and Supervisor-in-Training. She has received additional training and/or supervision in Attachment, Regulation, and Competency (ARC), Trust Based Relational Interventions (TBRI), the Adult Attachment Interview (AAI), Non-Directive Play Therapy, and adoption-related mental health. She is currently pursuing her RPT certification.

Kirsten believes that play is vital to healing in children, and therefore uses play to build trust, regulate emotions, and explore thoughts and feelings that might not otherwise surface verbally. She uses a strengths-based approach in working with families to promote secure attachments, foster healthy relationships, and promote mutual enjoyment. She has worked extensively with children with attachment-related concerns, including those in families built through foster care and adoption. She specializes in working with children and families on issues of trauma, grief, loss, displacement, identity, anxiety, and other related issues. Kirsten is especially drawn to working with younger children toward building a foundation for lifelong positive mental health.

Kirsten earned her Master of Social Work with a mental health concentration from the University of Illinois at Chicago. There, she also earned a certificate in Integrated Behavioral Health with children and adolescents. Kirsten can be reached at kirsten@nurturedrootschicago.com.

Jennifer Jimenez, MSW Candidate

Jennifer Jimenez (She/Her/Ella) is a bilingual Level One Theraplay® trained clinician. Jennifer has worked with children and families around grief and loss, anxiety, depression, trauma, family separation, and displacement. She has developed her skills through her work in a foster care group home, a rehabilitation facility, direct therapeutic services for children exposed to trauma, and group family therapies.

Jennifer understands everyone has the potential to grow and promotes flexibility in the therapeutic space so that family members can form secure attachments. She credits nurturing relationships as a crucial source of healing, which is the foundation of her practice with children and caregivers. Jennifer believes in the power of collaboration, working closely with families to develop strategies that best fit their goals. Her strengths-based approach fosters a safe space for families to explore their relationships and strengthen their bonds.

Jennifer earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in Applied Behavioral Analysis from the Iberoamerican University in the Dominican Republic. She is currently a Masters in Social Work Candidate at The University of Chicago with a concentration in contextual behavioral practices. She is working towards her Theraplay certification and is trained in Strengthening Family Coping Resources (SFCR) as well as Circle of Security (COS).
