Supervision is essential for the work that we do. Not only does it help us to grow our skills, work through ethical dilemmas, and ensure that we are following best practice standards, it protects against burnout. The relationship between supervisee and supervisor is just as important as the relationship between client and therapist. I am here to support healers so that you are better able to show up for your clients.

LCSW/LCPC Supervision

In Illinois, Master’s-level social workers working toward LCSW licensure must complete 3,000 hours of post-graduate supervised clinical experience. During this time, supervisees are required to receive a minimum of four hours per month of clinical supervision with a qualified LCSW.

I provide individual and group clinical supervision grounded in attachment theory, developmental neuroscience, and trauma-responsive practice. My approach is relational, reflective, and developmentally attuned, with an emphasis on integrating clinical knowledge with the clinician’s lived experience in session.

Supervision focuses on strengthening clinical formulation, increasing tolerance for complexity and uncertainty, and deepening attunement to client affect, relational patterns, and underlying developmental needs.

Central to our work is supporting regulation within the supervisory process itself. We attend to moments of clinical activation as meaningful data, working to integrate cognitive, somatic, and relational understanding. I incorporate experiential and play-informed methods to support reflective capacity and to balance right- and left-hemisphere processing, particularly in work with trauma, attachment disruptions, and dysregulation within child, adolescent, and family systems.

Play Therapy / Theraplay® Supervision

Clinicians pursuing the Registered Play Therapist (RPT™) credential must complete 35 hours of supervision with a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor (RPT-S™). These hours are completed over a minimum of two (2) years and a maximum of seven (7) years, in conjunction with required education, clinical experience, and training. Of the 35 hours, 15 may be completed in group supervision and 20 must be completed in individual supervision.

Theraplay® supervision may be completed independently or in conjunction with RPT supervision. Clinicians pursuing both credentials may coordinate requirements when working with a supervisor who is both an RPT-S™ and a Certified Theraplay Supervisor. Theraplay certification requires eight (8) supervision sessions at each of the three levels: Foundational, Intermediate, and Certified.

My play therapy and Theraplay supervision is grounded in attachment theory, developmental trauma treatment, and relational neuroscience. This work emphasizes advanced case conceptualization through a developmental lens, with attention to symbolic communication, relational dynamics in play, and the therapeutic use of self.

Supervision supports clinicians in moving beyond technique toward deeper clinical attunement—tracking meaning in play, understanding underlying affect states, and responding with interventions that are developmentally appropriate and relationally grounded.

We also attend to parallel process, including the clinician’s internal experience as clinically meaningful information. Experiential reflection, case material, and play-informed strategies are integrated to strengthen clinical flexibility, confidence, and reflective depth in work with children and families.

Availability

I can accommodate individual supervision at a time that is convenient for the two of us. I will send you a HIPAA-compliant link that we can use to ensure confidentiality. If you are in the Chicago area and would like to meet in-person, I can accommodate that as well.

I conduct group supervision when there is a need and enough supervisees are able to meet at a time that is convenient for all. Supervision groups are limited to four (4) people at a time to ensure everyone’s individual needs are met.

**Please note: Per TTI’s practicum requirements, Theraplay supervision cannot be conducted in a group and must be completed individually.**
