Mandy provides specialized care for individuals experiencing mental health challenges related to pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. Many birthing parents have experienced loss in the form of miscarriage, stillbirth, abortion, or placing a child for adoption. These experiences, if left untreated, can lead to serious consequences for both the birthing parent and children. Common mental health challenges accompanying pregnancy and pregnancy loss include depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and OCD.

Perinatal Narrative Exposure Therapy (PNET)

Perinatal Narrative Exposure Therapy is a short-term, evidence-based treatment for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) that can be used during pregnancy and/or after a traumatic birth. NET helps clients to create a coherent life narrative in which they contextualize their traumatic experiences. Clients in NET during pregnancy report significant reductions in depressive symptoms. For those partners who have witnessed the traumatic delivery of their child, NET can help reduce trauma symptoms and improve subjective well-being.
